This is part 1 of a series of posts discussing some Useful Websites which can assist you in different categories.
With the boom in internet connectivity and the entire world living online for the most part of their day, there has been an exponential rise in websites being created everyday. In fact, as per a blog I had read on the web, around 175 new websites are being created every minute, which totals to approximately 250,000 websites in a day. The current trend also says that around 53 % of users are visiting websites from their mobile phones and the rest in a traditional way using a laptop or desktop computers.
This post will list out 10 useful websites which can help you in your everyday life in various different categories. I am also going to mention the pricing in case they have any paid plans or subscriptions. Please note that I am not affiliated with any of the websites that I am going to mention below. If there are any paid plans and if you decide to buy it, I don’t earn anything. There are no affiliate links in this post.
Let’s begin!
magiceraser.io
Category: Digital Art, Photography
This website lets you remove unwanted things from your image. In fact their tagline is ”Remove unwanted things from images in seconds” so I’m not kidding.
Pricing:

I got these cool gifs from their website which kind of show what this really allows you to do.

I have used this site and the experience has been good. I was able to erase stuffs from my image which I did not need.
musclewiki.com
Category: Health & Fitness
This website lets you select any part of a male or female body and it shows you all the different workouts you can do to build that body part. The website is very simple to use and I’m just in love with the UI. It has so many functionalities apart from just showing you the exercises. For example, you can select what type of exercises you want to do, like bodyweight, dumbbells, stretches, etc. For each exercise that it suggests, there are gifs of professionals actually doing the exercise so that you can get an idea of the form and posture. Also, every exercise has a difficulty level like beginner, intermediate or advanced and helps you to choose them based on your fitness level.

It also allows you to use some calculators like Calorie Calculator, Macro Calculator and One Rep Max Calculator.
I have not seen any paid plans so far on this site.
myfridgefood.com
Category: Food Recipes
Another very cool idea behind creating this website. It simply gives you a list of all possible ingredients that are available at someone’s kitchen or in the refrigerator and allows you to select them based on availability in your house. You can then click on Find Recipes and it will take your list of available food items and combine them into actual recipes which are really good.
I was surprised to see some of the recipes that came up when I selected very few items from the list as I was due to go grocery shopping and my stocks were depleted.
They also allow you to submit recipes and if selected they might show up when someone selects ingredients present in your recipes. They also have an android and iOS app, you can click on them to download as per your devices.
I have not seen any paid plans so far on this site.
remove.bg
Category: Digital Art, Photography
This website lets you remove backgrounds from your images using ai. You can simply upload your image and it will detect the subject and based on that remove the background. I have had a really good experience with this so far with the AI understanding quite well the subject and the background.
This site also allows api and developers can use it to integrate within their apps. There is a cost involved with it and you can check the complete pricing details on the website. For the free version, it lets you download a preview image without the background at a lower resolution but could be enough for a social media video thumbnail. In order to download Full Image quality, you need credits and you can buy those from the site. Here is the quick summary on the pricing as mentioned on the website
If you’re someone who doesn’t know Photoshop or don’t want to learn any of the other photo editing software but you still need an image with the background removed, this could be your go to place on the web. No need for any beefy systems for doing image processing as everything is done in the cloud.

photopea.com
Category: Digital Art, Photography
This is a free online photoshop like editor.
It lets you create projects and work on editing photos or even creating digital art like photoshop.
This is a free tool and obviously it won’t have all the features that an expensive and robust tool like Photoshop will give you. However, this is still enough for many editing needs without spending a single penny. The team is very active and they have GitHub and Facebook page where you can submit your suggestions for new features. The team at Photopea have mentioned that their goal is to create the most advanced and affordable photo editor. I wish them all the best for their goal and I am sure they are nearing that with every new update or feature getting added to the tool.
This is an absolute free site as all the features are available without paying anything, however, they have to bear the cost of maintaining this website along with all the development in the background to make it useful, hence there is a pro version as well to mainly support the devs.

Alternativeto.net
Category: Productivity
This site lets you find alternatives for many softwares.
There is a big search bar where you can put in the software you want alternatives to and it will spit out a list of similar softwares for you. The lists of alternatives are crowd-sourced as mentioned on the site. The cool part is that it will also give you some content on the comparison between the two. I searched for Facebook (you can also search for offline softwares like MS Paint) and it showed me a list of social networking platforms I had never even heard of. The first one was https://www.minds.com/ and the second one https://diasporafoundation.org/
It also has many filters using which you can slice and dice the results, for example online, offline, windows, mac, android, iOS, etc. It even had gaming software and their alternatives like retroarch for playing retro emulation games. I have a dedicated section on this blog just for gaming and since we’re talking about it, if you are interested please click here to check articles related to gaming.
I could not find any pricing details on this site for any paid services.
hunter.io
Category: Productivity, Digital Marketing
This website lets you find all the email address mentioned in a website. This may sound little gray, but it is web scraping which is not illegal in nature. It has a search bar where you can put the website address and it goes through the different pages and content and finds all the email address associated with it.
As an example, I searched for ign.com, one of my favorite websites related to gaming, it found around 400 emails from ign.com. You can create a free account which will allow 25 searches every month. But in order to search more and also export all the emails it generates, you need a paid plan.

pdfescape.com
Category: Productivity
This is an online PDF Editor with some great features like editing a PDF file, fill PDF forms, create PDF forms, password protecting a PDF file, etc. They also have a desktop application but it is a paid software after your trial ends. The desktop version does have additional feature on top of the online editor.
Namechk.com
Category: Productivity
This is another cool website that allows you to check domains and several social media platforms for your name, whether it’s already registered or not. You can search for a word and it will then very intuitively show you all the domains which are or are not registered having that name. Also, it will show you several platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. where that username is registered.
I typed tomcruise in the search bar and this is what is showed me. It’s just amazing!

Along with this, it also has some great articles on how to and reviews about web hosting, website building and along with some tools to help generate names.
I did not see any paid service plans on this site.
toffeeshare.com
Category: Productivity
The list of the websites on this post were not in any order but somehow the best site of this list did come up at the end. If you will ask me out of all these sites, if I am allowed to access only one, I will request this one.
Toffeshare.com allows you to share your files with any devices having an internet connection and a web browser securely, privately and without any size limit for free. I am repeating the last point again – WITHOUT ANY SIZE LIMIT for FREE!
The technology used to share is peer to peer communication which means that the data is not sent to a third party server before being downloaded to your destination device.

Also, this being a browser based application, you need not worry about the different operating systems. I work on a windows 10 PC but use an iPhone. I hate connecting to itunes and transfer anything with a physical wired connection to my iPhone. But since I have started using toffeeshare, I transfer very easily wirelessly both ways.
They also have a windows and android app with the iOS app coming soon. Its mentioned that with the apps, you can transfer even faster and without the need for keeping the browser open until the time the transfer is active.
Please click here to donate to this company as I think we need something like this forever.
